INSTRUCTIONS ABOUT RE-ISSUANCE OF OVERSEAS CITIZEN OF INDIA (OCI) CARD
As per government’s existing instructions, an OCI Cardholder shall have to get the OCI Card re-issued once a new passport is issued after completing 20 years of age. With a view to avoid inconvenience to OCI Cardholders who are required to get their OCI Cards re-issued on account of COVID-19 pandemic, it has been decided, to further grant extension of time till 31.12.2022 to all eligible foreigners to get their OCI Cards, re-issued.
It has also been decided that, subject to MHA’s extant guidelines regarding entry of OCI Cardholders in India, such OCI Cardholders will be allowed to travel on the strength of their existing OCI Cards bearing old passport number subject to the condition that the OCI Cardholder will have to travel along with new passport.
