Important Notice/Advisory on Fraudulent Calls

It has been brought to the notice of the Embassy that some calls from unscrupulous elements, spoofing Embassy’s Numbers are being made. Such caller(s) claim to be an official of the Embassy and seek personal information, such as name, date of birth, credit card details, passport number, etc. In some cases, they may also falsely claim that they received such privileged information from the Embassy or other authorities in India.

2. Please note that the Embassy of India, Ulaanbaatar does not make any such telephone/mobile calls to seek personal information. It is advised that members of the Indian diaspora should not entertain any such suspicious calls made in the name of the Embassy of India. They are also advised not to reveal any personal information or transfer any money in response to such calls.

Such matters may immediately be brought to the notice of the local police agency(ies) and to the Embassy through email at cons.ulaan[at]mea.gov.in with CC: admn.ulaan[at]mea.gov.in.

The Embassy of India in Mongolia is situated at a prestigious location in the Sukhbaatar district of Ulaanbaatar, not far from the Selbe River and the National University of Mongolia. The Embassy is functioning from one of the city's landmark buildings. Indian Nationals in need of Embassy assistance are welcome to contact the Attache (Consular) on any working day during office hours. The Embassy shall, however, appreciate receiving advance intimation to avoid any inconvenience.
